Coordinates of Comparison 2009

Here's the poster I did for the 3rd annual Comparative Literature conference at the University of Alberta. Aside from a few minor changes, this is the final version. It's one of the first pieces of media I've ever done which utilized solely my own photography.

  1. Very nice, Mike. I very much like the blend between the cloth (it is cloth, right?) and typewriter elements in this picture. And the color does a great job of tying it all together. And that is a beautiful looking typewriter. Is that your own, out of curiosity?

  2. Not cloth - it's a close-up photo of a candle holder in my sister's house. The typewriter is not mine - it is on one of the trains at the Alberta Train Museum, and I got some brilliant shots of it when I was there earlier this year. The color is the result of blending another photograph of cracked paint from one of the trains and overlaying it on the other photos using one of the Photoshop blending effects.
