It's on ...I haven't seen 30 days of night yet Carl. It's on my "to see" list. I don't get out to movies much because I'm the primary home-caregiver for our son right now, and I like to spend time with my wife in the evenings - she's not a horror fan, so it's not date material.Mike Perschonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09335943113292616702noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30422841.post-56090757741136610242007-11-04T18:30:00.000-07:002007-11-04T18:30:00.000-07:00Out of curiosity, did you see 30 days of night? Absolutely brilliant.Carlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15611238656734418577noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30422841.post-27014631951548272972007-11-01T18:53:00.000-06:002007-11-01T18:53:00.000-06:00Truly, that's an inspired idea. But I'd also have...Truly, that's an inspired idea. But I'd also have to get back at my then-roommate Duncan and my then-boss Aaron too. Aaron would 'ring' my chair at work with water when I'd leave my desk and then freak out about 'seeing the ring' when I returned. And every morning for a week when I got up I'd find a note from Dunc saying things like "Seven days, sorry bout your luck" or "Five days, can I have your room when you're gone?" or "Three days, have you stocked up on cat food for Poe?". I don't know what it is about me that inspires such creative cruelty. Hence why I never any more admit to being scared by things... :)

Still... I like the idea....Corinne Simpsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07345531819211476370noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30422841.post-15892763986633251602007-11-01T08:46:00.000-06:002007-11-01T08:46:00.000-06:00Blair Witch...didn't scare me one bit. I was more ...Blair Witch...didn't scare me one bit. I was more annoyed than scared, and that was in my 1999 search for a REALLY SCARY MOVIE. The only thing that frightened me in Blair Witch was the last shot of the guy standing in the corner. That creeped me out. But the rest just didn't do it for me. The original Shining is a classic, and I really need to watch that one again.

As for Silent Hill, as I've said, I found the ending to be a disappointment, but I love the first 2/3rds. I watch that, and imagine a different ending.

And Gabrielle - you should make Scott a DVD of the "video" that you watch seven days before you die and mail it to him with no markings on him out of revenge. Nothing like your impending doom to teach you a lesson about prank calls!

I had Aliens on my original list as well, but I was handing out candy while typing it, so my wpm was a little low. But my original list for these sorts of films would be rather extensive. I love a good horror film. Next year I need to do some sort of Advent to Atrocity, blogging in the Halloween vein earlier than the night of!Mike Perschonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09335943113292616702noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30422841.post-37281123210804215822007-11-01T07:06:00.000-06:002007-11-01T07:06:00.000-06:00i agree with most of your titles listed, except si...i agree with most of your titles listed, except silent hill.. i was let down by that one... the ring is one of my faves... another part that creeps me out is when they're showing the video and you see the mom brushing her hair in front of the mirror just STARING at you... AAAGGGHH!! hahaha...

i watched 'planet terror' yesterday... what a funny, sick, smart horror film! tarantino and rodriguez are geniuses...

how about blair witch and the shining?Society's Elitehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07527708910400810272noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30422841.post-25178818330603491322007-11-01T03:14:00.000-06:002007-11-01T03:14:00.000-06:00I loved Sleepy Hollow. But of your whole (worthy) list, the single most terrifying one on the list was The Ring. Up until the last five minutes it was just cool. Atmospheric, vaguely creepy, not really scary but interesting. Then her head appears over the well and... dear lord have mercy... I didn't sleep for seven days and it was compounded by Torch phoning at odd hours to whisper "seven days" and hang up. Jerk. *grin* Before The Ring, the only film that had kept me up nights was Event Horizon. Good list!

Happy Halloween, Gotthammer!Corinne Simpsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07345531819211476370noreply@blogger.com
